The Economic Chamber of Macedonia and the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of promoting financial education.

Educational activities are key part of the activity of the Chamber for promoting the market economy, entrepreneurship and encouraging the competitiveness among its members. These activities, specifically, are performed through organizing and encouraging appropriate forms for constant functional education and innovations in the knowledge of managing staff, as well as other professional staff and professional upgrade of the acquired knowledge through organizing professional training. The educational activities of the Financial Education Project of the National Bank which includes: interactive lectures, seminars and workshops, national and international conferences, visits to the Bank, releases and publishing educational materials for different target groups and ages, performing bilateral cooperation with institutions and organizations, are intended to increase the financial literacy of the population in the country.

The singing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Chamber and the National Bank aims to raise financial awareness of the population in the country, to improve the financial literacy among young and adult population and to acquire appropriate skills and knowledge which will enable them to make rational and effective decisions in managing money and financial services and products.

The singing of this Memorandum represents another step forward in the promotion of the long-time successful institutional cooperation between the Chamber and the National Bank. The role of the Chamber, through the companies within the Chamber, is to inform and encourage business-community to support the implementation of projects in the field of financial education, pursuant to their opportunities and interests. Thus, the Chamber is actively involved in the constant Financial Education Project of the National Bank. At the same time, the National Bank supports the financial education projects of the Chamber (through the Education Center within the Chamber and the Business Centre for Training and Education) for implementing educational activities, such as: lectures, seminars, workshops, round tables, conferences, internal trainings and other events, organizing promotional educational events, publishing educational materials, leaflets, booklets and other activities from the field of financial education which are of mutual interest for both institutions, as well as for all entities included in the listed projects.
