Today, the Governor of the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Petar Goshev, had a meeting with Mr. Ad Melkert, Executive Director of the World Bank Dutch Constituency, the Republic of Macedonia is a member of. At the meeting, Mr. Melkert was informed about the current macroeconomic situation in the Republic of Macedonia, the situation in the banking sector, its structure and performances, as well as the measures and activities for its improvement.
Governor Goshev asked Mr. Melkert to intercede with the World Bank through the projects and technical assistance within the World Bank's three-year strategy for the Republic of Macedonia, to support the Republic of Macedonia in its structural reforms in the judiciary system and the implementation of the international accounting standards. Mr. Melkert, in turn, expressed his willingness to intercede with the World Bank to support the Republic of Macedonia in this area.
Governor Goshev availed himself of this opportunity to express his gratitude to Mr. Melkert for his efforts and endeavors regarding the support given to the Republic of Macedonia by the World Bank and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
