The National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia informs the public that during July 1 -3, 2013 period, in cooperation with the central banks of the Netherlands and Portugal, is organizing the sixth conference on the "Payment Systems and Securities Settlement Systems", to be held in Ohrid.
The opening speech at the Conference will be given by the Vice Governor of the National Bank, Ms. Maja Kadievska Vojnovic.
The Conference is of international character and it will be attended by representatives of commercial banks, other financial institutions and regulators of financial market infrastructure in the Republic of Macedonia, as well as representatives from the central banks of the Central and Southeastern European countries.
The Conference aims to connect experts from the financial sector in terms of knowledge sharing in the field of new payment systems and settlement of securities operating standards, offer a discussion based on the latest research trends in large payments, management liquidity, innovative, socially useful and reliable payment products and services, and innovative solutions and security aspects of payment.
The Conference is expected to facilitate the implementation of the "Strategy for the development of the payment system of the Republic of Macedonia in 2013-2017 period", which was adopted in March 2013. By implementing this strategy, increase safety and efficiency in the execution of payments and acceptance of effective noncash payment instruments is expected, ensuring also gradual fulfillment of the requirements for integration into the Single European Payment Area - SEPA.
