26 March 2015At the session, the National Bank Council discussed and adopted the Report on the Operations of the Internal Audit in 2014, and it was ascertained that the Internal Audit Department fully implemented its Work Program. Internal Audit performed its main goals through systematic assessment and making recommendations toward improvement of the risk management process, adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, giving assurance of efficient and economical use of resources, safeguarding of assets, reliability and integrity of financial and other information and compliance with the laws and regulations, internal policies and operating procedures. In 2014, 18 regular audits were carried out for 35 business processes, giving 61 recommendations to improve the internal control system. The recommendations were monitored on a regular quarterly basis and the findings of the monitoring suggest that the recommendations are mainly observed and implemented within the given deadlines. In 2014, 96.4% of the recommendations were implemented.

At today's session, the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia Council, based on the planned schedule and pace of activities, also adopted the Decisions on issuing and the Decisions on putting into circulation the collector coins "Gemini" and "Cancer" from the "Zodiac signs" series. The coins "Gemini" and "Cancer'' will be issued in denominations of 10 denars, in 7000 pieces.

At today's session, the Council adopted the new Rulebook for research activity, which enables further improvement of the framework for the research activity and its harmonization with global practices. The Rulebook provides for an environment that stimulates the research activity and encourages employees to publish papers in international journals with impact factor, in order to further strengthen the institutional capacity and enable wider promotion of the institution.

The Council also discussed other matters within its jurisdiction.
