Third meeting of the financial supervisory authorities in the Republic of Macedonia
Today, representatives of the financial supervisory authorities in the Republic of Macedonia, the Ministry of Finance, the Insurance Supervision Agency, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Agency for Supervision of Fully Funded Pension Insurance and the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia, held the third work meeting at the National Bank of Macedonia. The meeting was attended by the heads of these institutions, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski, MSc., the Governor of the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia, Dimitar Bogov, MSc., the President of the Council of Experts of the Insurance Supervision Agency, Klime Poposki, PhD, the President of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Elizabeth Chingarovska, MSc. and the Manager of the Agency for Supervision of Fully Funded Pension Insurance, Bulent Dervisi, PhD. The aim of these meetings, which began in June 2012, is to contribute to maintaining safe and sound financial system, which is a current international practice, through promotion of cooperation among regulatory and supervisory authorities.
At the meeting, they discussed about the important current activities of each of these institutions, as well as the latest developments in the insurance and banking sector, capital market, as well as pension funds, financial leasing and financial companies. It was concluded that the financial sector in the Republic of Macedonia remains stable.
