On the occasion of celebrating 70 years of institutionalized central banking activity in the Republic of Macedonia, this year, the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia organized several events to mark this important anniversary. One of them is today's launch of two publications that represent a bibliographical overview of the professional and research thought which has contributed to the successful performance of the main functions and tasks of the National Bank over the last 70 years, including various aspects of the economic and legal science that are indirectly included in the scope of central-banking activities.
The first publication, Bibliography of Central-Banking Activities: 1946-2016 is the first thematic bibliography of central banking activities published in the Republic of Macedonia and represents the first thematic bibliography on central banking activities published in the wider region. It features 740 titles of monographs, including master thesis and doctoral dissertations and over 1250 articles and papers developed in the Republic of Macedonia in the said period. The second publication, Research Thought in the NBRM: 1992-2015 includes bibliographic data for research and professional papers of former and current employees of the NBRM in the period of monetary independence of the country. The launch was addressed by the Governor of the NBRM, Dimitar Bogov and the Vice Governor Anita Angelovska Bezhoska, while the significance of these publications was presented by Prof. Dr. Ljube Trpeski and Prof. Dr. Gligor Bishev.
With the launch of these two publications, the professional and the public will have a significant synthesized insight into the extensive professional and research papers that have affected the process of conducting a prudent monetary policy, ensuring price stability through a stable exchange rate of the Macedonian national currency and stable banking sector. Moreover, the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia believes that the launch of basic bibliographic data for such outstanding quantum of research knowledge in the field of central-banking activities will be a serious basis and impetus for future qualitative research endeavors. In addition, their launch also provides a detailed insight into the history and processes of building central-banking operation from its inception until today.
