On January 31, 2003, the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia introduced a new form of operation on the foreign exchange market in the Republic of Macedonia, in order to improve the efficiency and the transparency in the foreign exchange market operations.
The disclosure of information about the movement of the Denar exchange rate on the foreign exchange market, as well as the data on executed transactions are some of the activities undertaken for this purpose.
Starting from January 31, 2003, the media, the interested entities, as well as the public will be able to follow the movement of the exchange rate of the Denar against the Euro prevailing at the given moment on the foreign exchange market, alive, on the Internet site of the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia (www.nbrm.gov.mk), on the link Listing on the Foreign Exchange Market, in Macedonian language, 24 hours a day. This Internet site contains the exchange rates the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia uses to intervene with the commercial banks. The displayed exchange rates are approximate, they are not abiding and apply only to the participants on the foreign exchange market in the Republic of Macedonia, however, representing an indicator for the direction towards which the exchange rate moves.
