Participants and Accounts in MIPS

The banks operating in the Republic of Macedonia and supervised by the NBRM are notable participants in MIPS. Also, according to the legislation, participants in MIPS are the NBRM, clearing systems, treasury system, brokerage companies, and other institutions that have signed an agreement with the NBRM.

To participate in MIPS, the potential participant is required to submit an Application for participation in MIPS (available only in Macedonian language). If, upon processing the application, the NBRM determines that all participation requirements are met, an Agreement for participation in MIPS (available only in Macedonian language) is signed with the new participant. By signing the agreement, the participant undertakes to abide by the Operating Rules of MIPS.

The participant opens an account with MIPS by submitting an Application for opening an account (available only in Macedonian language), along with the required documentation listed in the Decision on the general conditions for opening and closing accounts in the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia and an Application for authorized signatories (available only in Macedonian language). If the necessary conditions are met, an Agreement for opening a transaction account of the participant in the NBRM is signed (available only in Macedonian language).

The participant may close the account at the NBRM in accordance with the Decision on the general conditions for opening and closing accounts in the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia by filing an  Application for closing an account (available only in Macedonian language).
