Subject: CALL FOR PAPERS for the 4th NBRM Research Conference "Addressing structural rigidities in view of monetary policy transmission effectiveness", organized by the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia, to be held in April 23-24, 2015, Skopje, Republic of Macedonia

Dear Sir/Madam,

The National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia (NBRM) announces a call for papers for the 4th Annual Research Conference, traditionally organized to mark the anniversary of the country's monetary independence. The Conference will take place in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia in April 23-24, 2015. It aims at bringing at one place the researchers from academia and policy-making institutions, with a sole purpose of providing grounds for a debate on relevant economic issues.

Acknowledging the need for speeding up the economic growth and sustaining it, as a current challenge pertinent for many economies, next year's Conference topic is titled as "Addressing structural rigidities in view of monetary policy transmission effectiveness". Keynote lectures at the Conference will be given by distinguished guest speakers from central banks, academic or policy-making institutions. The papers submitted for the Conference should ideally deal with the following issues:

• Structural rigidities and monetary policy transmission mechanism;
• Labour market rigidities;
• Wages and prices settings;
• Income inequality;
• FDI impact on structural changes;
• Financial intermediation deepening;
• Reforms in the financial system;
• Structural reforms and fiscal implications.

The organizing team would like to invite all researchers from academic and policy-making institutions to submit paper proposals. We solicit high-quality submissions, both theoretical and empirical papers related to the non-exclusive list of broad topics suggested above. Interested researchers should submit their papers or extended proposals (min 500 words), together with a short CV, by e-mail at [email protected] no later than February 15, 2015.  Authors of the accepted papers will be notified no later than March 10, 2015. The Conference version of the paper and the presentation are expected by April 5 and April 15, 2015 for the paper and the presentation, respectively. 

Please note that the NBRM will cover the accommodation expenses for the selected speakers. The selected papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings Volume and on the web site, subject to author/institution permission.
